Stay tune... STARSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS are in town. @ Starsssss©

Flying star ~ 飞天星
water colour, 105x148 mm.

This is one of my many paintings drawn based on the subject title of the star character (figure). I was started to be attracted by the transformation of the star to a man-like form during the Pandemic lockdown in 2020... It was also a throwback of many long journeys in my traveling date back in 2016-2019.

The Starry Night (7&8/10/2017) - Get to know Vincent Van Gogh 1853-1890

The Starry Night (medium - soft oil pastel) - present to you by the young artists.

Hi all, you must be puzzled that why am I not posting a weekly picture after the lesson, like I usually did. It's because your child(ren) were doing great works! I wanted to preserve their good works and present them in immortal(as long as I keep this blog... I guess, haha!)

Kids were so attracted by Vincent Van Gogh's story and of course his paintings! They pretty shock that such a great artist (art works sold in billions of dollars...) lived in a poverty condition and got rejected from loving someone... The insanity act of Van Gogh that cut off part his left ear to be presented to loved one and at the committed suicide by shoot himself on the chest... The whole life of Van Gogh is just tragedy but why he could produced such a GREAT works one after another... ??
We all won't know and the answer, my friends is in the air...

No title were given to kids except an instruction - Observe, see closely what is so special, draw what you see...

This is pretty accurate ... beautiful circular lines and strokes...
Gorgeous lines isn't?

Starry Night from a little girl recently turn 4.

R e - Discover Vincent Van Gogh in the land of windmails

Vincent ~ one of the most ORIGINAL artist ever, Vincent Van Gogh worked as an evangelist before taking up painting at age 27. He was largely self-taught, but absorbed the inspiring lessons of Impressionism during two years in Paris. Then he moved alone to Arles in the south of France...

In Arles, Van Gogh painted the landscapes, still-lives and portraits which became his most famous works. They are all signed simply 'Vincent'

The special way on COLOUR study

One of the most curious objects preserved at the Van Gogh Museum is a slightly battered Chinese red lacquer box containing 16 colourful balls of wool and a few loose strands of yarn. This unusual box of yarns relates to the artist's understanding of colour theory, and derives from a specific educational practice.

Almond Blossom 1890

The Garden of Saint Paul's Hospital (Leaf-Fall) 1889

In the last two years of his life Van Gogh painted in waves and swirls,
applied so thickly that the marks stand above the canvas.

See the detail of painting.

Both Almond Blossom and Leaf Fall are live shots, but I didn't make them good shots because I was ashamed of myself on doing that. We have abuse the use of camera since the invention of phone camera...  In this gallery many people did not took their camera out, they turn to their heart and the sight. I heard gentle discussion in small group and lot of time static person stared in front of a painting. Van Gogh converses his spirit and thought with us through his passionate to colour and strokes.

I have visited Van Gogh Museum at Museum Plein in Amsterdam. It was a great experience and worth all your time of course money too! I have been so attracted by the paintings of Van Gogh since my first day in art history lesson in the college many years back when I was still an art student.

That time, it was just a glance of introduction from the projection on the wall to this post impressionist artist... in art history class one needs to know as many artists as possible every week, the class was to lead every art students/ artist or designer to be realised and appreciate the specialised style of each respective great artist from every significant period.

I am glad to see the magnificent real touch of Van Gogh. I spent the whole day like I always used to in galleries, but time was too short even a full day with Van Gogh's I need whole life to explore every details!

As I am lucky to work with my young little artists again back in Penang, I promise to give a better introduction of Vincent's life and life as a painter back in a century.

Here, we have done the first lesson, please let me have the pleasure to present the first observation work of young children to great artist work - The Starry Night, collection of Museum of Modern Art, New York.

To be continue in next post with children in my art lesson discovering Starry Night.
