The Starry Night (7&8/10/2017) - Get to know Vincent Van Gogh 1853-1890

The Starry Night (medium - soft oil pastel) - present to you by the young artists.

Hi all, you must be puzzled that why am I not posting a weekly picture after the lesson, like I usually did. It's because your child(ren) were doing great works! I wanted to preserve their good works and present them in immortal(as long as I keep this blog... I guess, haha!)

Kids were so attracted by Vincent Van Gogh's story and of course his paintings! They pretty shock that such a great artist (art works sold in billions of dollars...) lived in a poverty condition and got rejected from loving someone... The insanity act of Van Gogh that cut off part his left ear to be presented to loved one and at the committed suicide by shoot himself on the chest... The whole life of Van Gogh is just tragedy but why he could produced such a GREAT works one after another... ??
We all won't know and the answer, my friends is in the air...

No title were given to kids except an instruction - Observe, see closely what is so special, draw what you see...

This is pretty accurate ... beautiful circular lines and strokes...
Gorgeous lines isn't?

Starry Night from a little girl recently turn 4.

A bright Starry Night
A mid Summer Starry Night, don't you think so?

Another authentic artwork from a 4 years old boy.

14 master piece in total, one more to be presented soon...

Parenting Sketching on 2 April 2016 at Gertak Sanggul

That wonderful afternoon at Gertak Sanggul we sketch, picnic and play and listening to story ...
We were blessed with light breeze and soft sun light during the afternoon of parenting sketching day... It's such a great pleasure to have such a moment!
Cozy atmosphere, beautiful nature and serene sew view are free for all of us to enjoy!

Other than sea view I can draw the mountain view too!

I can sketch with stick & ink...

I like to play with sands

We like listen to story in such a relax environment...

Our Horizon - Parenting Outdoor Sketching

From north to south, east to west increasingly beautiful Penang our homeland that used to fill with
greens, mountains, deep sea blue had been quietly eroded... eaten up by bulldozers, reclamation
and given ways to concretes of blocks of costly bungalows, high-rises, huge malls and…

What more we could offer to our children after we submit in destroying all these
re: nature and the precious in it??
We could restore an old house but we could never bring back the ambient of nature!
And we refuse artificial pleasure from theme parks and indoor air-conditioning!
So, shall we awake, say NO this time! (sometimes we need to!)

Gently we protest and Creatively we preserve, admire Gertak Sanggul (south horizon of Penang) through the eyes of a child!!  A PENANG CHILD!!

The Very Grouchy Bugs - Pistachio & Nasi Lemak Spoon Bug to cheer you up!

First let's eat some pistachio nuts.
And listen to story "The Very Grouchy Lady Bug" by Eric Carle before we started the exploration to work and transform the recycle items that are so commonly seen and being simply thrown away or kept for no other purpose for ages...

You need only three pieces of pistachio nuts' shells then draw any lovely patterns you like on the shell with marker pen. (commonly called as magic pen in Malaysia) After that put aside for later use.

- Gold/ any colour wire. Cut them in six short strips as they will be the legs for your bug, you can use pipe cleaner as the bug's legs as well.

- Two nasi lemak plastic spoons (Any colour. You can get this type of spoon not only your purchase of nasi lemak sometimes in some kopitiams some hawkers will give this spoon for soup) and a pair of toy plastic eyes (suggestion : make your own pair of eyes using black and white papers.)

Pistachio is nice to eat, easy and last very long to store!

You can use plastic hot glue to put all the parts together, after that I suggest that you tie a string around the body of  the (the part where two spoons stick back to back together with six strips of wire) bug and it is very  nice to use as hanging deco on your car's look rear  mirror, enjoy trying!

MH 370 in memorial ~ eco craft - A Vitagen bottle Airplane.

The Malaysian missing flight MH370 had once become the hottest topic of all. So I looked into my rich storage of recycle resource, touching them and start my imagination engine... Uh huh Vitagen bottles!

Decorate and design the flaps of the airplane.
Lantern papers (very flimsy stain glass liked transparent paper) stick smoothly and fluidly when it contacted with glue this helped us easily cover the uneven surface of the bottle.

Debra The Zebra - The milk carton animal wanted to be your friend.

I always look and observe things that surrounding us. Closely I observe the forms that can we transform into something.
Disposable cutlery give us so much convenience but it created a lot of junks... We can settle these junks by looking into their form add in or minus take out some parts  something new can be born out of it, again we give these junks a second life span...
Debra the Zebra is my another eco transformed craft - using milk carton, paper cup, plastic spoons...

Very straight forward paper cup adding in two plastic spoons I made Debra's head.
