Once upon a time, there was 1 Day trip of mine to Taman Bahagia (Cheerful Garden) LRT Station.
Inspire Other to Goodness part 1.
I started my trip at 9.45am, when I jumped out from the car I took out my camera and started to snap what ever subject that I feel interesting or I think important. I met one Chinese uncle stood at the rood side waiting for his fetching. Politely I smile at him and started to ask : "Uncle, do you agree with the 2 hawkers stall sitting in front the LRT station? " Immediately the uncle shared his precious opinion about how should an surrounding of a good environment be...He gave good example of China - Things that should or should not appear within 5km of a natural fountain (a natural resource place of interest) example : Public Toilet, How should this essential venue/spot supposedly place at? Which location of these public toilet should be building up in order to present it functionality that not just benefit the people and it is also aesthetically blend into the whole environment of the natural fountain. According to Uncle, pre-plan and include the necessity of any kind facilities are essential for Holistic city/town planning are really important, we should not build up something like for example: a toilet, a stall or any utilities (when we think it is necessary) right in front of no where or simply a spot that "convenience" to public/ more to the planner (the building planner/ the architect should think ahead)...The Uncle also shared about the LRT surrounding in Japan - big bicycle park etc. and one or two western countries, which I can't recall the name of the country. This uncle who shared the same view with me, I really like to know his name, hope I can see him again and ask for his opinion further in this very interesting topic that not just useful to community designer like me, its also very positively in contributing to the LRT management, I hope Rapid (the LRT company) hear this too...
This is the picture of the uncle, who shared his precious opinions about functionality and aesthetically of utilities and facilities in a public space.
Can you see the stall sitting right in front at Taman Bahagia LRT station? I myself 101% not agreed with it emerge, the overall appearance of the stalls are totally contrary to the LRT station which projecting modern and advance...
But of course we should not see thing from one part of it...More story to be tell after I talked to the people here...
Story of Tears and Sweats to be continue in part 2.
This picture projected our very local community culture- the food stall, harmonically blended in the environment and surrounding. I took this picture right in front at the train station in Taipin, last October. And I just love it, and I spent my lunch there!
