Inspire Others to Goodness part 2. "The Story of Tears and Sweats"
(What is your opinion toward the two food stalls that sitting in front the LRT station? Is it not matching with the appearance and surrounding of LRT station?)
The entrance of Taman Bahagia LRT Station. |
Although I myself not quite agreed with the two 'pasar malam or penjajah' (Night market/ hawker) stall sitting in front at the main entrance of LRT station which so clashing with the modern outfit of LRT station...BUT, still I CANNOT denied that this two stalls are perfectly reflected Malaysian/Local culture!
And the tears and sweats parts are, this stall was not cheap of it rental since 5 years ago, so sad to tell that it is RM600 per month. The Makcik (Address to an senior Malays ladies) who runs her tit-bits and fruits stall here, took over this stall from the previous tenant, and she gets this stall through a not 'rasuah' (pay under table money method) by filled in application form and submitted to the mentioned LRT company. She pays her rental through bank check every month since 5 year ago... I ask is she confirms that no middle man make profit in between? Her answer was - not sure...
Makcik is filling water from a tape not far from her stall that build right in front the LRT station. |
And what can design suggest, help or enthuse in contributing ideas to this situation? Ideas that can improve not only outfit or appearance of the stall, but the holistic that benefit every one from the community...
I've spoke to some local and a few foreigners at the LRT Station. Collecting voices and I found out most of the young local not agree with the appearance of current stall, but have no ideas on what to do. some feel its very convenience and some do not care anything at all.
By browsing around the surrounding of the Taman Bahagia LRT Station, I found that the are two repeated bus station, this could be taken up and initiated and turn to be a better location for food stalls and its also nice to LRT passengers to sit down and have a cup of local beverage or nasi lemak (cocnut rice.) as breakfast.
