Earthquake and Baskin Robbin - One Year anniversary now...
The first intense quake (G 7.8 m) hit Nepal on the 25th of April 2015,
time was around 12.30pm Nepali time.
I was there, Boudha.
Praying to God for help and safe down under a chair in the lobby with a little boy...
I screamed and yelled with not even a question but many question marks ????
WHY? WHAT? What had happened?
Huhh... so lucky...??!!
Never come across an earthquake before... (I can't believed that still until today...)
On the 25th, sun rises early as usual on 5.00 a.m I waked up as early as sun and browsed the town that I missed due to lost my way and unable to find a reasonable shelter. I met with who ever that I need to meet in life and left Bhaktapur for Boudha.
On the 26th, Baskin Robbin announced free ice-creams for everyone... Hooray !!!
Another night sleep with shoes on just in case I need to run for life at the mid night...
We left Baskin Robbin for life at 1.30 p.m. Nepali time, another scary earth shaking. In front of me I saw the school building swinging and wobbling...

Very early and very peaceful morning in Bhaktapur (24 April 2015) |
Women and men work as usual. |
I met this young lawyer whose boyfriend took our picture. |
I bought tea and breakfast from this family at the street |
No one got right in reading the sign of nature! |

Turning the wheel couldn't help in turn away the earthquake... |
We waited and over night in the field of a school after the quake. Many more quakes after the first one... |

Parenting Sketching on 2 April 2016 at Gertak Sanggul
That wonderful afternoon at Gertak Sanggul we sketch, picnic and play and listening to story ...
We were blessed with light breeze and soft sun light during the afternoon of parenting sketching day... It's such a great pleasure to have such a moment!
Cozy atmosphere, beautiful nature and serene sew view are free for all of us to enjoy!
Other than sea view I can draw the mountain view too! |
I can sketch with stick & ink... |
I like to play with sands |
We like listen to story in such a relax environment... |
Temporary set-up for sketching registration counter. |

Our Horizon - Parenting Outdoor Sketching
From north to south, east to west
increasingly beautiful Penang our homeland that used to fill with
greens, mountains, deep sea blue had been
quietly eroded... eaten up by bulldozers, reclamation
and given ways to concretes of blocks of costly
bungalows, high-rises, huge malls and…
What more we could offer to our children
after we submit in destroying all these
re: nature and the precious in it??
We could restore an old house but we could
never bring back the ambient of nature!
And we refuse artificial pleasure from
theme parks and indoor air-conditioning!
So, shall we awake, say NO this time!
(sometimes we need to!)
Gently we protest and Creatively we
preserve, admire Gertak Sanggul (south horizon of Penang) through the eyes of a
child!! A PENANG CHILD!!
